Paul Novak
Vice President

Paul joined CFB in 2007, and is responsible for selecting, structuring and managing CFB’s equity and debt investments as well as sourcing new transaction opportunities. Paul has more than a decade of investment banking, corporate restructuring, and management consulting experience.

Prior to joining CFB, Paul was a Vice President with Goldsmith Agio Helms – Lazard Middle Market, where his role included structuring mergers and acquisitions, rendering fairness and solvency opinions, and representing debtors and creditors in and out of bankruptcy court. Prior to joining Goldsmith Agio Helms – Lazard Middle Market, Paul was a senior engagement manager in the complex corporate litigation and restructuring division of Navigant Consulting, Inc. While at Navigant, Mr. Novak represented numerous Fortune 500 companies, debtors, and creditor committees in Chapter 11 reorganizations, Chapter 7 liquidations, out-of-court restructurings, pre-packaged bankruptcies, corporate litigation matters, and special purpose tax opinions.

Mr. Novak has a Master of Business Administration Degree in Finance from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University, a Master of Arts Degree in Economics from DePaul University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of St. Thomas. Mr. Novak is also an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), and is Certified in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV). Paul holds various board positions with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and is a member of the Distressed Business Valuation Committee of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
